Nether Springs FAQ

Colon hydrotherapy is a drug-free method of clearing waste from the large intestine. Filtered, temperature-regulated water is introduced into the colon which softens and loosens accumulated waste so it can be released through the body’s own natural muscle contractions (peristalsis). The process is repeated several times over the course of one session. It isn’t presented as a cure, but as a supportive procedure meant to help the colon and by extension the rest of the body function more effectively.

Yes. Sessions are performed with FDA-approved HydroSan Hydrotherapy Equipment, which uses a multi-stage water purification system and a disposable, single-use speculum. Everything runs as a closed system, so waste is carried straight into the drain line with no odor, and the unit is fully cleaned and disinfected after every client. No chemicals or drugs are used at any point in the process.

Your first visit runs a bit longer than later ones. You’ll fill out intake forms and a health questionnaire, and there’s time set aside to answer your questions and walk you through the equipment before anything begins. You’ll be shown the individually packaged, disposable speculum before it’s used. During the session itself, you lie on your side for insertion, then move into a comfortable reclined position with your head and shoulders raised you’re covered throughout, and warm, body-temperature water does the rest.

A session itself lasts approximately 45 minutes, though it’s recommended you set aside about an hour total for your visit. Because meaningful cleansing tends to build over more than one visit, most people benefit from a series of sessions rather than a single treatment and package pricing is available for anyone booking multiple sessions at once.

Colon hydrotherapy is often used to relieve constipation by softening and flushing impacted waste from the colon. This method supports a more regular bowel movements. It’s positioned as one part of a broader digestive-health approach rather than a standalone fix which is why it’s often paired with nutrition coaching.

An Ozone Steam Sauna combines two therapies in one session: heat (hyperthermia) and ozone. The heat opens circulation while the ozone works to oxidize toxins so the body can clear them through the skin, lungs, kidneys, and colon going beyond what a standard dry or steam sauna does on its own.

According to Nethersprings, benefits include support against bacterial and viral infections, toxin oxidation for elimination through the skin, lungs, kidneys, and colon, calming effects from oxidized adrenaline, improved circulation from vasodilation, looser and more relaxed muscles, and a metabolic boost sessions are noted to burn roughly 200–400 calories over 20–30 minutes.

As a certified health coach, Wendy McPhail acts as an advocate and ally rather than a prescriber helping you set concrete, actionable goals, working through personal obstacles, and supporting you in following through on a doctor’s recommendations (for example, building an actual diet and exercise plan after being told to lose weight). Coaching is available one-on-one or in groups, and can be done by Zoom or Skype, by phone, or in person, so you can choose whatever format fits your schedule and budget.

DRESS stands for Diet, Rest, Exercise, Stress Reduction, and Supplementation the five pillars Nethersprings uses to frame nutrition education. Each piece is treated as connected to the others: for instance, diet and rest both influence your circadian rhythm and stress response, and chronic, unresolved stress (whether physical, mental, or emotional) can eventually wear down the body’s ability to adapt at all.

Wendy McPhail holds four credentials: CNC (Certified Nutritional Consultant), NBCCT (Nationally Board Certified Colon Therapist through the International Association for Colon Therapy), and A-CFHC (ADAPT Certified Functional Health Coach). She is also the Weston A. Price Foundation chapter leader for Winchester and Hemet, CA.
