What is the Colon?
The colon is the
last 5 feet of the digestive tract. It is approximately 2-1/2 inches in
diameter. It is a hollow, tubelike organ made up of muscle structure
that moves digested food along by a wavelike motion known as
peristaltic action.
The Colon is the living area for a host of
bacteria that produce vitamins, such as K and some B vitamins. The
Colon also absorbs water, nutrients, proteins and cell salts back
into the blood stream. Its major functions are to eliminate waste, keep
the body hydrated, and to reabsorb electrolytes and minerals.

When waste material has accumulated over a long
period of time it breaks down and becomes toxic. The toxicity can
consist of impacted feces, dead cellular tissue, mucus, parasites,
worms, etc. The body responds to this poisonous condition by slowing
down other functions. This causes constipation and sluggish bowel
movements which affect all other systems of the body. When
thepoisons re-enter and circulate in the bloodstream, we can feel
ill, tired or weak.
What Happens During a Colon
Hydrotherapy Session?
Colon Hydrotherapy is the safe, gentle
infusion of water into the colon via the rectum. No chemicals or
drugs are involved and the entire therapy is both relaxing and
effective.
If a client is new to hydrotherapy, the
first session will be longer. To get to know you better, we have a
number of forms to fill out, and a health questionnaire. We will
spend time discussing your questions, and we will explain to you our
FDA approved colon therapy equipment. You will be shown the
disposable (one use only) speculum in its package, and explained the
insertion procedure.
The next step is where the client will
lay on their left side in the Sims position during their insertion
of the speculum. The therapist will assist the client in the insertion,
and then the client will be urged to get comfortable in a resting
position on their back, with head and shoulders raised. The client
is covered at all times. Warm, body temperature water will then be
inserted through the speculum into the body through our FDA approved
HydroSan Hydrotherapy Equipment.
This equipment employs
multi-stage water purification systems. It is a closed system, so
waste is discreetly transported into the drain line without offensive odor
and without any compromise of your dignity. After each therapy
session, the unit is thoroughly cleansed and disinfected in
preparation for future use.
Each colon hydrotherapy session
lasts approximately 45 minutes and you should allow at least one
hour per office visit. Depending upon your health objectives, we
offer colon hydrotherapy for a reduced price when you buy more than
one session at a time. It usually takes more than one session to
achieve the maximum cleansing benefit.
